Accomplishments

Over their time serving Fox Lake, Mayor Donny Schmit, Bernice Konwent, David Gauger, and Jeff Jensen have worked tirelessly to make our community a better place to live, work, and play. Here are just a few of their achievements:

  1. Major Infrastructure Improvements: Reconstructed key roads, including Grand Avenue and Nippersink Road, and secured a $2.75 million grant to address flooding in the Knollwood Subdivision.
  2. Expanded Lakefront Park: Added a playground, beach, band shell, pickleball courts, and a splash pad—all without raising taxes or fees.
  3. Transparent Governance: Ensured accessible government by posting agendas online and offering board meetings via Zoom to keep residents informed and engaged.
  4. Economic Development: Launched a new marketing campaign to attract businesses and visitors, setting the stage for downtown revitalization.
  5. Grant-Funded Projects: Secured grants to fund infrastructure, park upgrades, and public improvements without increasing the financial burden on taxpayers.

Voting Starts March 17th!

Voting is your opportunity to shape the future of Fox Lake! Here’s what you need to know for the upcoming election:

  • Early Voting: Starts March 17, 2025, and runs through March 31, 2025. Cast your ballot at any Lake County early voting site at a time and place that’s convenient for you.
  • Election Day: April 1, 2025, with polls open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Vote at your assigned polling place, including:
    • Fox Lake Volunteer Fire Department (114 Washington St., Ingleside)
    • CrossPoint Church (27430 W. Nippersink Rd., Ingleside)
    • Lakefront Park Building (71 Nippersink Blvd., Fox Lake)

Other voting options include voting by mail, grace period registration, and ensuring your voter registration is up to date.
